Quentin Tsosie
Sophomore
Fort Lewis College

Quentin is a sophomore at Fort Lewis College majoring in computer engineering. He first got connected to Master Plan Ministries at FLC through an invitation to a fishing trip. “I was a first year student with very few friends. Having a group of people who shared the same hobbies as me such as fishing, hiking, camping and then also sharing the word of God was so welcoming. The push for a Christ centered lifestyle was just a blessing to me.” Since getting involved in the leadership of MPM at FLC, Quentin has been able to see God use him in the lives of others. “I met a guy through the Fort Lewis app wanting to go and do photography. I seemed to connect with him and later had a class with him. A few months later he stopped by a tabling event for MPM and I started talking to him. He shared how he has been trying to grow closer to God. I believe God made me connect with him before to help bring him closer to God through MPM and allowed him to feel more comfortable having someone he knew there in the club/ministry.” Quentin is a smart student that is really making strides toward his degree by securing a great internship at FLC this summer. “A big prayer request would be that my engineering internship go smoothly and the Lord guide me in my research as well as my classes to also continue providing for me and help me find others to bring to Christ.”

Peyton Skur
Graduate & MPM Intern
Colorado Mesa University

"The Master Plan staff redefined my understanding of spiritual leadership. I came from a background where larger than life personalities woo students into high energy communities in hopes of inspiring them towards real depth in relationship with Christ. But the MPM staff took a different approach by embodying a humility that put Christ on display above all else. The invitation to lead was not new to me but the call to selfless, servant leadership, was a challenge to my identity. Throughout my senior year I felt strong convictions to do full time ministry after I graduated but I assumed that the calling was to be overseas. But as I submitted my ambitions to the Lord, I felt Him asking me to stay and to be equipped. Although this leading was frustrating and confusing at first, God revealed to me how much there was for me to learn in a structured campus ministry setting. Master Plan was gracious and willing to walk me through a dramatic change of course while setting me up for a smooth entry into full time ministry. I was compelled by how the skills that one learns as an intern are transferable to your personal life as well as any ministry context! During my last semester as a student, I had the privilege of witnessing sweet transformation in the life of a freshman. During an outreach event at the beginning of the school year, I met a new student. He had little to no spiritual background but he was eager to make friends so I got to know him better and invited him into our community…Through this process he realized his need for Christ and the great potential there is to be had in relationship to our Creator! He then trusted Christ with his life and came back as a new man in the spring semester. Personally, pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to break my heart for the lukewarm-Christian student body. I’ve realized that it all starts with a true compassion for people which then fuels my investment in the students throughout the year."

Jayne Pope
Junior
Adams State University

"My name is Jayne. I am currently a junior at Adams State University. I am pursuing a double major in Psychology and Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology. I first got connected with Master Plan Ministries in December 2019; it was at the end of my first semester of college. Malcolm and Forrest usually had a table set up in the Student Union Building and talked to students about their faith. One day I was walking back to my dorm after class, and I got into a conversation with them about God. They invited me to the Bible study group called Anchored [MPM at ASU], and I decided to check it out. Little did I know that this decision to go to Anchored would change my whole relationship with God. I have been part of Anchored since then and it has been one of the best and most important actions I have taken in my life and in my walk with God. I was raised Catholic, so I grew up going to church with my family, but I only really did it because that was the right thing to do as a Catholic. I had never picked up a Bible and only prayed the one time a week I went to church. I feel like I have grown very close with everyone in Anchored, and they have honestly become like a second family to me. One of the many things I love about Anchored is that we can have trusted and heavy conversations with each other, but we can also have fun and laugh with each other. I have attended two retreats so far in Durango and have been able to interact with more tremendous people there as well. Meeting other followers of Christ from all over the state of Colorado and building a bond with them from the first time I meet them continually reminds me that God really does place people in our lives for incredible reasons. I have found myself to become much more comfortable with engaging in conversation about God with others. I have asked people how I can be praying for them even if I am not sure if they themselves are a believer and follower of Christ. A big prayer request is for a successful and fun year. Things have been so different this past year for everyone because of athe pandemic, and I am looking forward to things returning to normal. God has a plan and a reason for everything. I have been praying a lot for this world and for the future of this world. A lot has been taken away from college students this past year alone, so prayers for students, faculty, and staff, and our collective ability to continue moving forward would be greatly appreciated."
