Who is Master Plan Ministries?
Master Plan Ministries has been helping fulfill the Great Commission in South West Colorado and around the world since 1985. Please read more here.
What if I can't afford the retreat cost?
We don't want money to be the reason you don't go. We are offering a handful of are Servant's Scholarships to the retreat. These are several $50 tickets that are available to men or responsible young men that are willing to serve in kitchen clean up for about 30 minutes after the Friday night snack and 4 meal times at the retreat. If you can get a group from your church to come, sometimes they will give scholarships to an event like this.
Should I bring my young son?
We really want to reach young men at this retreat. Reaching the next generation of men is on our hearts. However, we will not have any child care, and we can't let youngsters roam the ranch without adult supervision during sessions. We want you and all participants to get the most out of the retreat as possible. Also, there will likely be some PG-13 testimonies and topics that we'll address. We will try to prep you for those as the schedule gets confirmed. If you bring your son, you should plan to debrief the retreat with him 1 on 1 before you get home.
Father's, your son's that are age 11 and over are welcome as long as they are able to sit through a few 2 hour worship/teaching sessions, and participate during two men's small groups, and sit still during two solitary reflection times. If they get restless we ask that you'd take them for a short walk/talk rather than cut them loose on the ranch and surrounding beast infested wilderness ;) Bringing a quiet activity they can do in a seat (i.e. a book, rubik's cube or even a small video game on mute, not earbuds) is not optimal, but is likely better than them not coming at all. We all have a responsibility to reach the EARS of the next generation of men! Tickets are discounted for students. There will be features in the program that will be aimed at recognizing the importance of the youth and encouraging their enjoyment of the event. We aim to make it fun and rewarding for them.
What else should I bring? See a list of essential items here.
Can I come if I am not a Christian or have never been to a men's retreat before?
Yes! We think that any natural born man would really enjoy this retreat. It will also help if you are open minded to the claims of Jesus, and are willing to listen to several men share stories about how God changed their lives and willing to listen to engaging messages from the Bible. There will be periodic times of group singing too, but you you can just listen and observe if you'd like.
Are church pastors and other ministry leaders invited?
Yes. Please read our letter to Christian leaders here.
What time will it get started, and end ?
Men can arrive anytime after 5:00 pm on Friday for onsite registration and settling into rooms, and we will have our first big group session orientation meeting at 8:00 pm. Please eat dinner before arrival.
We will wrap up around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and each man will be asked to help clean up their living areas. On Sunday, men should plan to grab lunch elsewhere, though there will likely be some food for guys that stick around to help with clean up.
I have to come late or leave early.
Feel free to come late or leave early. We understand that some men have responsibilities in church the Sunday am, and every retreat several men leave to serve. We commend that. We ask that you do pay the full amount for a ticket even if you have to miss a meal or two to simplify our processes. If you have questions about this please contact Austin.
Who will be teaching the Word?
Michael Thompson is our special guest teacher this year. Other men will be MC-ing, sharing testimonies, leading worship, etc.
How do I get a T-shirt?
When you register online, in the same spot that you select your ticket type, you will also select if you want a T-shirt or a book. You must indicate the number of T-shirts you want to buy. Shirt design under development, last year's design is shown for reference.
What are sleeping arrangements like?
Everyone will need to bring their own bedding or sleeping bag. Everyone should plan to sleep in the bunkhouse, where there is a bunch of bunk beds with quality Extra Long single mattresses and 2 large bathrooms. We have a limited amount of Queen beds in private and semi private rooms for men who have the greater needs for an increased charge. You can request one during checkout at online registration.
If you have other questions that aren't addressed here, please shoot Austin an email at Austin.Krokos@MPMStaff.com or a text or call at 970-749-7873.
