Connect with God and Other Christian men
Each evening we'll gather for about an hour of sharing and bible discussion, focussing on the most important things in life. This element has historically been a highlight and biggest reason men say they have come to our men's events.
Invest In a Great Organization
Monday will be our scheduled Vision Tour day of Durango, the surrounding San Juan mountains and Master Plan Ministries. We want to show you why investing in Master Plan Ministries can make a huge impact for eternity.
Decompress in the Colorado Outdoors
Each day will have plenty of unscheduled recreation time. While men can choose any sport or leisure activity to pursue, we are hoping some men will take advantage of the local turkey season and nearby fishing.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Location: Getaway headquarters will be at the scenic and newly renovated Three Trails Ranch. It's located approximately 20 miles NE of Durango, Colorado above the Lemon Reservoir, which is a gateway to the Weminuche Wilderness area in the San Juan National Forest.
Housing: Every guest will have a queen size bed in a single or double occupancy bedroom. Private bathrooms are available upon request during online registration.
Food: Plenty of good home cooked meals are included during the meal times at the Ranch. We'll make lunches for recreation days. Meals eaten out during the Monday Vision Tour are included.
Cost: The total cost for the week is $2,000.
Reserve your spot for no charge with a"Save My Spot Ticket" through this link to Eventbrite.com while space remains. Spots are only guaranteed for the first 15 sportsmen!
Directions: Please use this link to see the ranch on Google Maps. Print off the directions to the ranch before you head up as there are no cell towers within several miles of the Ranch.
NOTE: There is no cell service and very limited internet service at Three Trails Ranch. Plan on unplugging for a few days except on trips into town. Ranch land line phone is 970-259-2354
The Getaway Theme: Designed to preserve the principle of enjoying deep satisfaction in the life that God provides:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want or lack anything,
He makes me lie down in green pastures, and leads me beside still waters,
He restores my soul and guides me in paths of righteousness…
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil…
He prepares a table before me (of blessing) before enemies,
He anoints my head with oil (more blessing),
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will be in the house of the Lord forever.”
“Things which the eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which has not entered the heart of man, is all that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
I Cor. 2:9
The mountain setting here is spectacular and inspirational, which shows the incredible creativity and power of God, our Creator. The time in the woods as well as the interaction with other men discussing Biblical principles usually provides a greater sense of peace, purpose, and a plan for life that leads to more hope and confidence.
Alcohol- This is a non-alcoholic event.
Tobacco- Smoke outside if you need to.

TURKEY HUNTING DESCRIPTION
This is a shotgun or archery only season. Currently, the turkey population is up and growing. We see turkeys almost every day. The goal is to find flocks and tom turkeys on public land, scout their locations, and be ready to call them in. Being in position before daylight is often an advantage.
Fishing is improving by this time in the spring as water temperatures warm up. We have a variety of places to fish:
· Lemon Lake – located just below the ranch. Contains rainbow, brown and kokanee salmon. No boats allowed, fish from shore. Fair to good
· Vallecito Lake – Large lake, rainbow, walleye. Rated fair to good. Often some great pike can be taken this time of year in the shallow water.
· Nighthorse Lake- New, large lake with larger 2-5 pound trout, rated good
· San Juan River Quality Waters – Above Aztec, NM, fly fishing, larger fish,
If you can catch them, 2-5 pounds, rated excellent! License cost per day - $12.
· Animas River – Big browns and rainbows. This year rated fair.
- We do not have boats, most of the fishing will be from land. Waders will provide you with much better fishing opportunities.
- If you would like to do some clay pigeon shooting as well as other types of shooting, bring your other guns and ammo.
- If you tie flies, bring your fly-tying kit.
Physically: The mountains at 9000' in elevation presents a challenge to most people.
Mentally: Expect your comfort zones to be challenged and expanded.
Spiritually: Often God will do more than you expect!
