Connect with God and Other Christian men

Each evening we'll gather for about an hour of sharing and bible discussion, focussing on the most important things in life.  This element has historically been a highlight and biggest reason men say they have come to our men's events.

Invest In a Great Organization

Monday will be our scheduled Vision Tour day of Durango, the surrounding San Juan mountains and Master Plan Ministries.  We want to show you why investing in Master Plan Ministries can make a huge impact for eternity.

Decompress in the Colorado Outdoors

Each day will have plenty of unscheduled recreation time.  While men can choose any sport or leisure activity to pursue, we are hoping some men will take advantage of the local turkey season and nearby fishing.

  • High altitude: we will be recreating, hunting and fishing  from 6,000 ft to 9,500 ft. elevation.  The Ranch is at 9,000 ft.
  • Expect the unexpected – Inclement weather and snow are possibilities.
  • See the Week's Schedule page here.

The Getaway Theme:  Designed to preserve the principle of enjoying deep satisfaction in the life that God provides:

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want or lack anything,
He makes me lie down in green pastures, and leads me beside still waters,
He restores my soul and guides me in paths of righteousness…
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil…
He prepares a table before me (of blessing) before enemies,
He anoints my head with oil (more blessing),
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will be in the house of the Lord forever.”

                                                                        -Psalm  23
“Things which the eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which has not entered the heart of man, is all that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
I Cor. 2:9

The mountain setting here is spectacular and inspirational, which shows the incredible creativity and power of God, our Creator. The time in the woods as well as the interaction with other men discussing Biblical principles usually provides a greater sense of peace, purpose, and a plan for life that leads to more hope and confidence.

Alcohol- This is a non-alcoholic event.
Tobacco- Smoke outside if you need to.

TURKEY HUNTING DESCRIPTION

This is a shotgun or archery only season.  Currently, the turkey population is up and growing. We see turkeys almost every day. The goal is to find flocks and tom turkeys on public land, scout their locations, and be ready to call them in.    Being in position before daylight is often an advantage.

FISHING DESCRIPTION:

Fishing is improving by this time in the spring as water temperatures warm up. We have a variety of places to fish:
·   Lemon Lake – located just below the ranch. Contains  rainbow, brown and  kokanee salmon. No boats allowed, fish from shore. Fair to good

·  Vallecito Lake – Large lake, rainbow, walleye. Rated fair to good.   Often some great pike can be taken this time of year in the shallow water.

·   Nighthorse Lake- New, large lake with larger 2-5 pound trout, rated good
Cost: $8/day/vehicle

·   San Juan River Quality Waters – Above Aztec, NM, fly fishing, larger fish,
If you can catch them, 2-5 pounds, rated excellent! License cost per day - $12.

·   Animas River – Big browns and rainbows. This year rated fair.

   Note:
- We do not have boats, most of the fishing will be from land.  Waders will provide you with much better fishing opportunities.
- If you would like to do some clay pigeon shooting as well as other types of shooting, bring your other guns and ammo.
- If you tie flies, bring your fly-tying kit.

PREPARATION:
Physically:  The mountains at 9000' in elevation presents a challenge to most people.
Mentally: Expect your comfort zones to be challenged and expanded.
Spiritually:  Often God will do more than you expect!

Space is limited. Register here today.
