Three Trails Ranch - Dining Hall Expansion

Why are we doing this?
Currently, the Dining Hall can only comfortably seat 50-60 guests, but we regularly use it to host larger groups, and it is uncomfortable and impractical. This room is the Ranch's largest meeting room, not only for meals, but also gathering for teaching and worship. The lack of gathering space at the Ranch is a big weakness.
Project Status
We are petitioning LaPlata County to get a permit to expand the space. In May of 2025, we were raised to the top of the list and are currently working to get their questions/requirements resolved to learn if we qualify for a 2,000 square foot expansion. We hope to add 1000 feet of gathering space to the existing Dining Hall and 1000 feet below the expansion for smaller gatherings, room for games (pool, ping pong, etc.) and storage.
Next Steps
We are currently working on a drawing for the new space and are about 85% complete. Next, we will submit the drawing for approval and begin work on official building blueprints. We hope to have a final design, permit, and bids by the fall of 2026.

Like any other construction project, this will not be cheap. Some of the project expenses will include:

- Lumber and related building materials (screws, bolts, nails, brackets, etc.)
- Plumbing and related materials
- Roofing Materials
- Electrical / Lighting
- Heating / Stove
- Plumbing
- Audio/Visual System
